Ahoy! Sinewy Sea, a new artist run shop based in London launching in the summer of 2011, is pleased to announce a call for submissions from young and emerging artists working within any medium, who are interested in gaining exposure and selling their work without selling their soul. The main ethos behind Sinewy Sea is simple: gallery quality work at affordable prices by young and emerging artists, sold through a company run by people who are artists themselves and can provide collective guidance and feedback for represented artists.

This is a great opportunity for emerging artists to be part of an exciting new venture from the start. Sinewy Sea is looking to build an initial roster of artists with unique voices, whose work compliments one another and fits within the overall aesthetic of the brand, which aims to provide inventive, imaginative and subversive work in an accessible and affordable way to creative consumers. If taken on the Sinewy Sea roster, in addition to having their work sold through the shop, artists will be provided the opportunity of creative guidance from the Sinewy Sea crew of fellow artists when creating further work, and the chance to take part in future group exhibitions.

For more information on this exciting opportunity, please contact sinewysea@gmail.com, sending a CV and portfolio of at least 10 works, in addition to a cover letter that answers the following questions:

-What motivates you to create art?
-Who would you cite as your heroes and influences?
-How would you like to improve as an artist over the next year?
-Who do you feel you work appeals to and why?
-How do you feel the Fine Art community can improve?

The Sinewy Sea team wholeheartedly believes in the accessibility of the arts, while encouraging a supportive and constructive atmosphere for all artists on our roster. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you'd be interested in joining us as we set sail!
